Adding to their woes, the area has been facing a scarcity of potable water supply, forcing families to purchase water or fetch it from distant locations. Ashok Sharma and Manju Sharma, residents of the locality, said they had submitted complaints to the local municipal councillor but received only assurances, with no action on the ground.
They said that the narrow lane connected to a busy mini-bypass and witnessed frequent movement of heavy vehicles, further damaging the already dilapidated road and increasing safety risks. Locals added that even walking has become difficult due to the poor condition of the street and ongoing sewerage-related issues.
The residents expressed resentment over the alleged official apathy. They warned that they would stage protest demonstrations at the MC office if action was not taken at the earliest to redress their grievances.
