BJP gears up for Thanesar Municipal Council election

Party workers to go door to door to make people aware of its achievements and policies

With the election of the Thanesar Municipal Council approaching, the BJP has geared up for the election by obtaining applications from aspirants and chalking out strategies.

BJP district chief Sushil Rana, who held a meeting with party workers, said the party was ready for the election and the party workers would go door to door to make people aware of the achievements and policies of the BJP.

While interacting with the party workers, Sushil Rana called on the party workers to show their full strength in the upcoming election and ensure the victory of the party candidates. The BJP had always stood with the people and worked for all sections of society. The party workers and the candidates would work to strengthen the party and the BJP would get a majority on the basis of their principles and policies.

"Our party is not only working on the election strategy, but we are also constantly striving to reach out to every section of society. We expect all candidates to go to the people in their respective areas and make them aware about the party's policies and principlesm,” Sushil Rana said.

Meanwhile, the aspirants for the BJP ticket submitted their applications for the election of Chairperson and councillors to the party’s district chief Sushil Rana on Friday.

Former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, who was also present on the occasion, said , "This election is not just a political opportunity but it is a step towards building the future of society and the country. The candidates should adopt the electoral process with honesty and transparency so that they can get the trust and support of the public."

BJP’s media district coordinator Sailesh Vats said, “Nearly 25 applications have been received for the ticket for the Chairperson’s election while the data of the applications received for the municipal councillors is yet to be compiled. After consulting with the senior party leaders, the candidates will be announced soon.”

Over 1.37 lakh people are eligible to cast their votes in the upcoming elections of Thanesar Municipal Council in Kurukshetra. Of total 1,37,677 voters, while 66,683 are female voters, 70,994 are male voters.

Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh said the voting for the new Chairperson of the council and members of the house from 32 wards will be held on March 2, for which the election process was being carried out as per the schedule given by the state Election Commission. To ensure smooth and transparent election, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers have been appointed.”

For the election of the Municipal Council, District Municipal Commissioner Satinder Siwach has been appointed as the Returning Officer while Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Rajesh Kumar has been appointed as the Assistant Returning Officer.
