BJP district president Advocate Yatindra Singh has appealed to young people not to use illegal or dangerous routes, such as the “donkey route”, to go abroad. In a press note, he said such methods violate the law and place the lives and futures of youths and their families at serious risk.
Singh said crossing borders illegally, using fake visas or overstaying in a foreign country can place youths under the watch of international law-enforcement agencies, including Interpol. This can lead to deportation, heavy fines, imprisonment and even permanent travel bans.
He warned that many youths fall into the trap of human traffickers and organised crime groups, where they face exploitation and human-rights abuses. Dangerous travel conditions, fear of arrest and months in foreign jails leave a deep psychological impact, he added. Returning home often brings social stigma and limited career opportunities, causing stress for the entire family.
Singh said undocumented migrants are forced to work in low-paid, unsafe and exploitative jobs. Even highly educated youths end up doing work unrelated to their skills, wasting their talent and potential.
He urged young people to focus instead on building internationally recognised skills. He said the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre and the BJP Government in Haryana are working seriously to strengthen youth skills through programmes such as the Skill Development Mission and start-up schemes.
