With the Election Commission set to announce the model code of conduct for the Assembly elections anytime now, the ruling BJP has put the election manifesto work on the fast track.

Even as other Opposition parties are yet to get their act together, the BJP has taken a lead in the preparation of the election manifesto, which the party said would have something for every section of society.

In the past two days, the manifesto committee held three marathon meetings under committee chairman and Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar to deliberate on the suggestions received from a cross section of society to prepare the blueprint.

“The work on finalising the election manifesto is in the final stages. The BJP will come out with its election manifesto much ahead of other political parties after the EC announces the election schedule,” said Rajiv Jain, media adviser to the Chief Minister and a member of the manifesto committee.

Last month, the BJP flagged off 18 ‘sankalp patra’ vehicles to tour the entire state to elicit suggestions from the public for the preparation of the election manifesto.

The BJP also launched its ‘Mhare sapno ka Haryana’ (Haryana of our dreams) campaign through the launch of a website. The nine members of the committee have been touring the state for face-to-face interaction with different sections to include their viewpoints in the election manifesto.
