Karnal: Social activist Pankaj Gaba has organised a blood donation camp at the civil hospital here to pay tributes to soldiers martyred on the India-China border. A total of 32 units of blood was collected. Dr Sanjay Verma, regional blood transfusion officer, and Gaba handed over certificates to donors and appreciated their contribution to the noble cause.
Crop diversification
Kaithal: A total of 4,163 farmers in the district have got themselves registered under the “Mera Pani, Meri Virasat” scheme. They will grow maize and other crops on 9,568 acres. To save underground water, farmers in Guhla and Siwan blocks will be provided 100 per cent subsidy on machinery for micro-irrigation. Deputy Commissioner Sujan Singh said the crop record of these farmers for last year should be verified and the process completed with GPS location.
