Boycott threat over water shortage

Sonepat: Residents of Anoop Nagar colony at Gannaur in Sonepat district have announced that they would boycott the upcoming Assembly elections if their three-month-old water supply problem was not solved. They have also declared that they would vote in favour of the candidate who will solve their problem. OC

Flying squads handle poll-related plaints 

Karnal: Flying squad teams (FSTs) constituted for the implementation of the model code of conduct has so far received three complaints on C-Vigil and it has resolved all of them. Shyam Lal, District Revenue Officer, said the FSTs had to resolve the grievances on C-Vigil within 100 minutes. The FSTs resolved two complaints related to illegal posters in Samanabahu village and one in Sadar Bazar here. TNS

17 POs arrested as police step up vigil

Karnal: In the wake of the Assembly poll, the district police have increased the vigil in the district. It has so far arrested 17 proclaimed offenders, 20 bail jumpers and two “most wanted” criminals. Surinder Singh Bhoria, Superintendent of Police, said they had registered six cases under the Arms Act. TNS
