BSP-LSP candidate submits incomplete form, told to come again

BSP-LSP coalition candidate Kisan Lal Panchal, an industrialist, could not file his nomination on Saturday due to an incomplete form. He had to go back after waiting for an hour in the office of the returning officer (RO) when his legal consultant failed to complete the form till the stipulated time for nominations. Now, Panchal will file his nomination on Monday.

Earlier, BSP and LSP supporters, led by incumbent Kurukshetra MP Rajkumar Saini, organised a show of strength by taking out a roadshow, which began from the old bus stand and culminated outside the mini-secretariat.

Saini said they had been fighting the battle of those sections of society which were deprived of their rights since a long time and no political party made any effort to uplift them.

“We will not tolerate discrimination with any section of society and will provide employment to everyone on coming to power,” Saini said, who also slammed both the BJP and Congress for not resolving the problems of unemployment and poverty.

Later, Panchal, accompanied with BSP state president Prakash Bharti, submitted his nomination but a column of the form was found blank during checking and hence, it was returned.

“A column of nomination form 26 in which the candidate has to mention his Twitter and other social media account details was left blank by mistake. The form will now be submitted on Monday,” Bharti said while talking to mediapersons outside the RO office.

2 file papers in Ambala

Two more candidates — Naresh Kumar of the BSP and independent Ranjit Singh — filed their nomination papers for the Ambala Lok Sabha seat here on Saturday, the fifth day for filing papers.
