Campus notes: College holds math quiz

Yamunanagar: On National Mathematics Day, the IQAC and Mathematics Department of Guru Nanak Khalsa College hosted a national-level mathematics quiz. A total of 145 participants from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi participated. The officiating principal, Dr Pratima Sharma, highlighted the college’s efforts to organise student-oriented competitions and praised the Mathematics Department for its initiatives. She congratulated Prof Gurvinder Kaur, Head of the Mathematics Department, along with Prof Asha Chhabra, Prof Arshdeep Kaur and Prof Manju Mandhan, for organising the quiz. Prof Gurvinder Kaur urged students to participate in competitions which help enhance their knowledge. The competition results were announced as follows: Bharti, a third-year BSc student from Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya Shahabad, secured first place, Disha, a third-year BA student from Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya Kurukshetra, won second place and Yograj, a third-year BSc student from MLN College Yamunanagar, secured third. The winners received cash prizes of Rs 700, Rs 500, and Rs 300, respectively.
