Kurukshetra University, in collaboration with the Haryana State Council of Science, Innovation and Technology (HSCSIT), Panchkula, is set to hold a two-day science conclave on “Amazing World of Science and Technology” on February 4 and 5. The organising committee of the university held a meeting to check the progress of the arrangements being made for the conclave. Dr Deepak Rai Babbar, joint organising secretary of the science conference, said the conference would bring together students, teachers, researchers and leading scientists as well as industrialists and entrepreneurs to promote dialogue and share insights on the latest advancements in basic science, academic pathways, career prospects and admission processes. Around 2,000 attendees, including students (classes IX-XII), teachers and research scholar, are expected to take part in the event. Science model and poster making competitions will be held during the conclave.

Anu shines at kite-making contest

Yamunanagar: Anu, a third-year home science student at Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar, secured the third place in a kite-making and decoration contest. Students from the college were part of Basantotsav, a cultural event comprising several competitions organised by the Women Cell and Home Science Department of IBPG College, Panipat. Guru Nanak Girls College Director Dr Varinder Gandhi and Principal Narinder Pal Kaur congratulated Anu on her achievement. They encouraged students to participate in such events and said that such programmes provided an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their talents.
