Scholar picked for research in Europe

Mahendragarh: Dr Somu Yadav, a researcher, under the supervision of Prof Pawan Kumar Maurya from the Department of Biochemistry, Central University of Haryana (CUH), has secured a postdoctoral research opportunity in the Czech Republic, Europe. She will focus on “Identification and Validation of Oxidative Stress Markers in Disease and Physical Stress Using Mass Spectrometry and Other Analytical Techniques”. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar said Dr Yadav’s achievement would inspire future generations of researchers. During her PhD research, Dr Yadav worked on developing antioxidant nanoparticles aimed at mitigating aging-related biological processes. Her research focused on reducing oxidative stress and cellular damage using advanced nanotechnology-based approaches. These findings hold potential in slowing down degenerative conditions and age-related diseases. Her research contributions have resulted in 18 publications, including research papers in prestigious high-impact journals such as the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules and the Journal of Gerontology. In her postdoctoral research, Dr Yadav will expand her focus to neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis, where oxidative stress plays a critical role. Her work will involve the identification and validation of oxidative stress biomarkers, which can significantly enhance early disease detection and therapeutic strategies. Using mass spectrometry and other advanced analytical techniques, she aims to develop new biomarkers that could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment approaches for neurodegenerative diseases.
