Campus notes: NCC cadets lead cleanliness drive
Karnal: World Wetlands Day was celebrated on Sunday by the 7 Haryana Battalion NCC with a cleanliness drive and an environmental awareness rally at Karan Park, Karnal. The event saw NCC cadets actively participating in the cleaning of the park and promoting the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The rally highlighted the importance of tree plantation, water conservation and maintaining cleanliness, with cadets chanting slogans such as “Clean Environment, Healthy Life.” The event, conducted under the leadership of Lt Dr Devi Bhushan, also saw the involvement of Havaldar Jaideep, SUO Randeep, UO Aryan and 40 cadets. Through the initiative, participants helped raise awareness about the ecological significance of wetlands while reinforcing a strong commitment to environmental conservation and cleanliness.
Capacity-building programme
Yamunanagar: A two-day capacity-building programme was organised at Mukand Lal Public School under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), aimed at enhancing teachers’ skills in life skills and classroom management. Approximately 60 teachers participated in the programme, which focused on effective teaching methodologies, emotional and social management and fostering creativity and skill development among students. The training also addressed key aspects of classroom management, teacher-parent collaboration and enhancing self and student efficiency. The initiative aimed to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) and provide teachers with modern pedagogical tools to improve education and life skills. Shashi Bathla, the School Manager, emphasised the importance of such training programmes, noting self-analysis is vital for refining one’s personality and supporting students’ academic progress. The principal, Seema Kataria said these programmes help teachers become more proficient, confident and emotionally connected with their students, reinforcing the idea that learning is a continuous process.
