Yamunanagar, January 12

A local court has awarded life imprisonment to a child in conflict with law for sodomising and murdering a 12-year-old boy.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the convict. According to information, the 12-year-old victim was from a village of the Radaur subdivision in the district.

He went to a fair with his brother on April 11, 2017, but did not return. The next day, his body was found near a pond in his village. Medical examination confirmed that the boy had been sexually abused.

On the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case was registered at the Jathlana police station. A CIA team arrested an adult and apprehended two juveniles and one child in conflict with law. The adult, identified as Manoj of Jathlana village, was awarded life imprisonment on December 6, 2018. The two juveniles were awarded three-year imprisonment on February 15, 2019.
