A Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) vehicle allegedly intercepted former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala's convoy in Hisar on Friday, triggering controversy.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The CCTV footage shows a cop in plain clothes stepping out of a vehicle after overtaking the security convoy of the JJP leader and Dushyant himself, attempting to hold onto their vehicle as the driver sped off.

Dushyant’s younger brother, Digvijay Chautala, also stepped out of his vehicle and was seen pushing a person, purportedly a cop in plainclothes, at the spot.

The incident occurred when Dushyant and his brother, along with supporters, were heading to the SP office in a mini secretariat.

When the cavalcade of the former Deputy CM reached near the old sabji mandi flyover, the CIA vehicle overtook the security staff vehicle, which was escorting Dushyant’s cavalcade.

Dushyant alleged that it was an attempt to run him over.

“We have no idea whether it was a police vehicle or a private vehicle because the vehicle carries a temporary number. This vehicle intercepted us, and one person got off to show a threatening gesture,” Dushyant said, adding that he and his security staff tried to catch hold of them, but the vehicle drove away.

Dushyant said they had lodged a complaint with the police and demanded an FIR.

Hisar SP Sidhant Jain informed that they had received the complaint and would take appropriate action after a thorough inquiry.

Notably, Dushyant, accompanied by his brother and other JJP activists, went to the city police station to court arrest after the police registered an FIR against them—including Digvijay—following a ruckus at the Vice Chancellor’s office at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, a day earlier.
