Civic body removes roadside encroachments in Yamunanagar

Goods will be confiscated and challans will be issued if the shopkeepers failed to mend their ways, officials said

A team of the Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) today removed encroachments from Railway Road and Meera Bai Market in Yamunanagar. The MC team warned shopkeepers against encroaching upon public areas. Goods will be confiscated and challans will be issued if the shopkeepers failed to mend their ways, officials said.

On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad, a team headed by sanitary inspector Satbir Singh removed encroachments on Railway Road from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk to Railway Station. As soon as the MC team started crackdown, shopkeepers removed the goods placed outside the shops.

The team also removed encroachments from Paper Mill Gate to Meera Bai Market. Chief sanitary inspector Anil Nain said as the public had to face inconvenience, the MCYJ had launched an anti-encroachment drive in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
