Civil services dream takes flight at Sonepat law varsity

Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU) organised an interactive session on the theme “Beyond Litigation: Career Opportunities for Law Students in Civil Services” through its Internship and Placement Cell (IPC).

On this occasion, university alumna Yukti Chauhan attended as the keynote speaker. She brought pride to the university by securing All India Rank 630 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025.

The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. During her address, Yukti shared her UPSC journey with the students and said, “Discipline, consistency, and a clear goal are essential for preparing for the civil services. With the right strategy and a positive mindset, success can certainly be achieved.”

Yukti advised students to make the best use of their time at the law university, focus on understanding the fundamentals of their subjects, and begin serious UPSC preparation from the fourth year onwards.

During the session, students asked several questions related to UPSC preparation, internships, interview processes and career choices.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Devinder Singh, congratulated Yukti and said, “It is a matter of great pride for the university that our alumna has achieved outstanding success in a prestigious examination like UPSC. Her achievement will inspire our students to pursue civil services.”

The Vice-Chancellor said that the university administration would further strengthen library resources to support UPSC preparations.

On this occasion, the Registrar Prof (Dr) Ashutosh Mishra addressed the students and said, “Students should utilise their time effectively, actively participate in academic as well as extracurricular activities and remain committed to achieving their goals.”

Yukti was felicitated by the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar, followed by the vote of thanks.

On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor’s OSD Lalit Kumar, Private Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Dr Balwinder Kaur, Dr Sukhwinder Singh, Dr Jyoti Sharma, Dr Deepshikha, Security Advisor Sudhir, Dr Jyoti Rana, Dr Akash, along with other faculty members and students, were present.
