During a state-level security conference on “Viksit Bharat – Security Dimensions”, in Panchkula, CM Nayab Singh Saini said sustained development is only possible when law and order is maintained and the success of all major developmental initiatives is directly linked to the competence and efficiency of the police force. The police is responsible for instilling a sense of security and justice in citizens, he added.
He also issued directions for the installation of CCTV cameras at crime-sensitive regions across the state, emphasising the need for smart-policing using technological tools.
Dr Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, congratulated the CM on his historic announcement to increase the representation of women police personnel in the state from 15 percent to 25 percent. The recruitment process for 5,750 police personnel, including 1500 women, is currently in progress, she added.
On Operation Hotspot Domination, Saini said more than 2,000 criminals were arrested within 12 days. Haryana Police has been very successful against inter-state gangs, drug traffickers and cybercriminals. Operation Track Town has also had a deterring effect on criminals, he added. 7,587 criminals were sent to jail and illegal property worth Rs 168 crore was seized in 23 days. said that nearly all of the 108 recommendations made during the DG/IG Conference of the previous year have been successfully implemented. The 107 new recommendations made this year are expected to be completed within the stipulated time frame.
