Saini made the announcement after inaugurating the state-level ‘Krishi Vikas Mela’ organised by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University at the Ladwa Grain Market. He toured the mela and visited the stalls set up by the university and farmers while sitting on a tractor.

To address challenges posed to agriculture by changing climate conditions, declining groundwater levels and irregular rainfall, the mela was held under the theme of “Water Conservation – More Crop per Drop”. Addressing the gathering, Saini said progressive farmers were a source of inspiration. “We must understand that water is not unlimited. This fair will connect farmers with advanced water management technologies. The scientific research of the university should not remain confined to laboratories but should reach every field and every farmer. Direct dialogue between farmers and scientists can take agriculture to new heights. The fair is a strong platform to connect farmers with modern agricultural equipment, improved seeds, new technologies and scientific advice,” said Saini.

The CM said digital technology had transformed agriculture and the government was making innovations such as drones, remote sensing and digital farming accessible for the state's farmers. "Through a transparent procurement system, timely payments and digital platforms, farmers are being empowered," he added. Saini also honoured progressive women farmers from across the state at the fair.

Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the state produced rice for the world but the country still imported pulses from other nations. "Farmers need to move beyond routine crops. In paddy cultivation, which requires high water usage, technology and direct seeding methods should be adopted," he said.

Additionally, the CM announced that the Kaithal to Yamunanagar road via Dhand, Pipli and Radaur would be made into a four-lane connecting NH-152D, NH-44 and the Shamli Expressway. The CM also laid the foundation stone of the new Ladwa Sub-Divisional Secretariat building and nine roads of the Public Works Department.
