Jai Parkash, Congress Member of Parliament from Hisar, has criticised the INLD, BJP and JJP amid cross-voting row during the Rajya Sabha poll.
Addressing reporters at the PWD Rest House in Sirsa, Jai Parkash said Ajay Chautala and Abhay Chautala were “not fit for politics”. He said he had been close to former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, but quit the party after leadership changed hands. “I built my own popularity and even met Devi Lal before leaving,” he added.
The Congress MP also targeted JJP, saying regional parties have no future in Haryana. On the issue of responsibility in the Rajya Sabha elections, he said, “We were not responsible for managing MPs. We were assigned to coordinate with MLAs. That responsibility lay with the party in-charge and the Leader of Opposition.”
Condemning cross-voting, Jai Parkash alleged those who accepted money and those who paid bribes were equally guilty. “Those who bought them are even bigger culprits. They must be punished. The party will take action against those who sold themselves,” he said.

INLD district chief Jasbir Singh Jassa on Friday criticised Congress MP Jai Parkash, accusing him of misleading the public. He alleged that in 2016, Jai Parkash and several Congress MLAs helped a BJP-backed candidate win the Rajya Sabha poll.
- Jassa said such actions reflected Congress policy and questioned cross-voting in recent elections. He also accused Jai Parkash of making baseless statements to please Bhupinder Singh Hooda, adding that people of Haryana were aware of the political reality.
Jai Parkash’s remarks have come after INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala criticised him, calling him a political “agent” of Bhupinder Singh Hooda and making personal remarks about his past.
Responding to the comments, Jai Parkash said he would release clips after the conclusion of the Parliament session. “I will present the truth before the public and respond in the court of the people,” he said, adding that his visit to Sirsa was part of that effort.
