Chandigarh, February 17
Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala has written to CM ML Khattar for the early evacuation of about 2,000 state residents from Ukraine. Surjewala said the Indian Embassy had advised Indians in Ukraine to leave the country, owing to the possibility of a war with Russia.
He said: “There are limited flights from Ukraine to India and due to a rise in the demand, the tickets rates have increased five to six times. It is the responsibility of the state government to provide financial help to the residents of the state.” — TNS
