Vice-Chancellor Ashok Kumar, MLA Rai Krishna Gahalawat, Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan, Registrar Jasvinder Singh and several distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.
Addressing students, faculty, and parents, Governor Ghosh lauded the university’s progress and praised the remarkable achievements of the graduating students. He urged students to contribute meaningfully to the inclusive development of the nation.
Ghosh said excellence in sports today is not merely the result of physical ability but a balanced blend of scientific training, mental resilience, sports nutrition, psychology and modern technology.
Congratulating the students and coaches for securing 61 medals, including 13 gold medals, in national and inter-university competitions, the Governor said these accomplishments reflect the high standards, discipline, and strong determination of the university’s students.
The Governor further emphasised that the sports university is rapidly emerging as one of India’s leading institutions in sports education and is poised to become the third-largest sports university in the country.
A total of 205 students were awarded degrees at the ceremony.
