They also assaulted the guards and locked them inside a mess on the premises. The police have started an investigation after registering a case in this respect.
“Three to four guards were present during the night’s routine duty when several unidentified persons suddenly entered the hospital and started manhandling the guards without any provocation. They locked all security personnel inside the mess, and warned them that if they made any noise or tried to come out, they would be killed,” said the sources.
According to the complainant, the miscreants took away six bundles of copper strip, 20 copper plates, approximately 37,600 metres of copper wire, and other materials stored at the hospital. After the incident, the robbers fled the scene. Sometime later, the security guards managed to free themselves and immediately informed the police.
As soon as the information was received, the local police arrived at the spot and recorded the guards’ statements. The police are also examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to trace the suspects.
