Search of unoccupied Gurugram house leads to explosives

Gurugram, March 1
Gurugram Police said their search of an unoccupied house in Sector 31 of the city led to explosives, including grenades.

A press statement from the police teams conducted raids at the house after they were tipped off.
Police teams found 15 practice grenades, 43 empty cartridges, one Bicat strip, and two hand grenades, the press statement said.
Police sources said teams also found some detonators.

A bomb disposal team that was called dug a 7-feet-deep pit within the plot to help defuse the explosives, the statement said.
Bicat strips are munitions inserted with crackers at strategic intervals. They are used by armed forces as practice ammunition to help stimulate the sound of gunfire.
“The house owner is learnt to reside in Delhi. We have traced the owner of this house and will interrogate him,” the statement said.
