Couple from Bihar arrested with 2 kgs of cannabis in Ambala

The couple reached Delhi from Bihar in a train and then boarded a bus to Ambala to avoid any kind of checking

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Ambala Police has arrested a couple and seized two kgs of cannabis from their possession.

The accused were identified as Gutan Mandal and his wife, Vishsikha, residents of Bihar.

A case was registered at Parao police station under the NDPS Act. The accused were produced before a court on Tuesday, which sent them to jail.

As per the Ambala police, they received a tip-off that a couple from Bihar is involved in drug peddling and they will be on their way from Ambala Cantonment Bus Stand to Railway Colony.

Following the information, a raiding party was deployed near the Railway Maal Godown in Ambala Cantonment.

During checking, around 6.50 pm on Monday, the police team spotted the couple with a bag and eventually seized two kgs of cannabis from them.

As per the police spokesman, during preliminary investigation, it came to light that the accused had reached Delhi from Bihar in a train.

They boarded a bus from Delhi to Ambala to avoid being caught during any kind of inspection.
