Cow smugglers open fire, flee in Faridabad

Faridabad, December 30

The police have registered a case in connection with alleged firing by cow smugglers on Monday morning in Ballabgarh subdivision.

Sector 58 SHO Indu said a truck was intercepted around 4.45 am near Jharsently village adjacent to National Highway-19. It was found to be carrying cattle in cruel conditions.

Cow smugglers allegedly started firing on some of the volunteers of a gau rakshak group and fled, leaving behind the vehicle and the cattle. No one was injured.

No arrest had been made so far. The SHO said five cows were rescued and those with injuries shifted to a gaushala after treatment.
