Cricket Club Karnal (CCK) delivered a dominant all-round performance to register a convincing 72-run victory over Haryana Warriors (HW), a team comprising judges from different districts of the state.
After winning the toss, CCK elected to bat first and posted a formidable 217/4 in 20 overs. The innings was powered by impressive half-centuries from Sandeep Bawa and Satnam Singh.
Sandeep Bawa played a blistering knock of 51 runs off just 21 balls, while Satnam contributed an equally impressive 51 off 24 deliveries, including two massive sixes. Karnal Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh scored 17 runs, while HCS officer Anil Kumar made a brisk 30 off 16 balls. Ankush Batra added 23 runs, and jail superintendent Lakhbir Singh contributed 13 runs before retiring hurt.
In reply, Haryana Warriors struggled to keep up with the required run rate and managed only 145/7 in their 20 overs. After early setbacks, their innings failed to gain momentum.
During the chase, openers Vikramjit Singh and Ravish Kumar failed to provide a solid start, losing their wickets early. Contributions from the middle order included Viren Kadian (17 off 15 balls), Sanjeev (54 off 41 balls), and Andy (18 off 13 balls), but these were not enough to challenge the steep target. For his outstanding batting performance, Satnam Singh was named man of the match.
