Residents of Paintawas Khurd village in Dadri segment boycotted polling over their demand for adequate potable water supply. The polling staff and officials reached the village and tried to placate villagers to participate in polling.

Sarpanch Anand Kumar said the village with about 1,500 votes decided to boycott the poll. “We went to the Deputy Commissioner on October 5 and served an ultimatum to boycott the poll if the demand was not fulfilled. The waterworks in the village is not getting water supply from the Manheru minor,” he said. — TNS
