Farmers under the banner of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue of the Dadupur-Nalvi Feeder.

The Haryana Cabinet today approved a proposal of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department to denotify 1,019 acres acquired for the construction of the Dadupur-Nalvi Irrigation Scheme. The scheme was initiated for irrigation and recharging of ground water in Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Ambala districts.

Farmers of several villages in the district are sitting on a dharna in front of the gate of the New Grain Market, Jagadhri, for more than a month demanding payment of enhanced compensation for the acquired land.
