DC directs officials to complete 100-bed hospital building in Ambala City by Sept 11
Civil Hospital being upgraded from 200 to 300 beds; CM Nayab Singh Saini expected to inaugurate building next month
Ambala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sachin Gupta on Tuesday inspected the under-construction 100-bed building of Civil Hospital, Ambala City, and reviewed the ongoing and pending works.
The hospital is being upgraded from 200 to 300 bedded hospital.
During the inspection, Gupta directed the Executive Engineers of the PWD (B&R) and PWD Electrical Wing to prepare a clear action plan for all pending works and accelerate execution. He said that 100 per cent completion of all works must be ensured by September 11, so that the facility can be made ready for inauguration and subsequently dedicated to the people.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is expected to inaugurate the building next month.
The DC reviewed the progress of the lift installation, electrical works, furniture, finishing works and other allied activities in detail. He directed the concerned officers to deploy additional manpower and undertake work in multiple shifts, including round-the-clock work wherever required, to meet the deadline.
Executive Engineer PWD (B&R) Ritesh Aggarwal informed Gupta that nearly 90 per cent of the civil works have already been completed and that the remaining works would be completed soon.
The DC also directed the officials to ensure that all works related to the electricity connection and associated infrastructure are completed without delay.
Gupta also reviewed the healthcare services being provided to the public and the implementation of various healthcare schemes during a meeting with senior officials of the Health Department at his office.
Chairing the meeting, he sought detailed information from Civil Surgeon Dr Renu Beri regarding the healthcare infrastructure in the district, including the number of PHCs and CHCs and the medical facilities available at these institutions.
Moreover, Gupta reviewed the implementation of key health schemes, including Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu, and issued directions to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are able to access the benefits of these schemes easily and without inconvenience. He directed the Health Department to establish Ayushman help desks at government hospitals and ensure that similar help desks are set up at empanelled private hospitals. These help desks should provide beneficiaries with complete information regarding eligibility, the process for availing treatment and other relevant aspects of the scheme.
He further directed that private hospitals clearly display information regarding the disease-specific treatment packages covered under Ayushman Bharat, enabling eligible patients to understand the available packages and access appropriate treatment.
Gupta further directed that Common Service Centres (CSCs) should also provide information regarding Ayushman Bharat so that citizens visiting these centres can be guided about the scheme and eligible persons can get their Ayushman cards issued.
He emphasised that the objective should be to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the full benefit of the scheme.
During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the functioning of de-addiction centres, the TB-free campaign, Nikshay Mitra initiative and other health-related programmes.
He asked the concerned officers to ensure regular monitoring of the treatment being provided at de-addiction centres, including periodic checks of the medicines being administered to patients.
