DGP Singhal said Haryana Police would soon implement the “Shagun Yojana,” under which financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh would be provided to police personnel from the Haryana Police Welfare Fund for the marriage of their daughters. There are plans to increase the assistance to Rs 5 lakh in the future, he added.

Singhal explained that the state had adopted a humane, flexible approach toward the transfer policy and said he was personally monitoring performance to ensure timely promotions for officers. "The CM has directed that the force working under challenging circumstances should be provided every possible facility to keep their morale high," said Singhal.

The DGP said 22 DAV Police Public Schools had been established for children from police families, where concessions were being extended to students, and free education was being provided to children of deceased personnel. "Approximately 1,200 students are benefiting daily from these institutions," he added. Discussions were held on expanding e-libraries and smart classroom facilities in police lines to ensure children had access to technology-driven education. He said the Shagun Yojana, Hostel Gift Scheme, construction of banquet and community hall facilities in police lines and housing-related schemes were making progress.
