DHBVN gives consumers option to pay net meter, load enhancement charges with first bill

In a step towards promoting rooftop solar under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY), the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has given consumers applying for rooftop solar the option to pay net meter and auto load enhancement charges in the first electricity bill issued after commissioning of the solar plant.
DHBVN Managing Director Vikram Singh said the decision had been taken to facilitate consumers, expedite the implementation of the scheme and simplify the process.
The Managing Director said the move would help advance the objectives of the scheme by encouraging more consumers to adopt rooftop solar and promoting renewable, clean and green energy.
According to a circular issued by DHBVN, consumers applying for rooftop solar under the scheme will no longer be required to pay the net meter and auto load enhancement charges at the time of application. They can now pay these charges in the first electricity bill issued after commissioning of the solar plant.
