Haryana: Display names, mobile numbers of staff on procurement duty: Finance Dept Commissioner to officials

Finance Department Commissioner CG Rajni Kanthan directed officials to display the names and mobile numbers of staff and supervisors on procurement duty at different locations for easy contact in all the grain markets. He said that farmers should not face any inconvenience during procurement.While visiting Karnal grain market on Friday, the Commissioner reviewed the arrangements for wheat procurement and listened to the problems of farmers, arhtiyas and transporters. He instructed officials to ensure their prompt resolution. Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh assured the Commissioner that all arrangements were well in place across all the grain markets.Before the inspection, he held a meeting with procurement agencies and the market committee secretary and reviewed in detail the arrival of wheat, procurement progress, storage capacity of agencies, lifting of wheat from mandis as well as the status of cleanliness, toilets, electricity, water supply and lighting.He directed the market committee secretary to ensure proper cleanliness and instructed that ID cards be issued to all staff, including temporary sanitation workers and security guards deployed through contractors.Kanthan inspected the gate pass system and the weighing process at the entry gate of grain market. Officials informed him that as soon as a trolley arrived at the gate, the farmer’s details were recorded and a gate pass was issued through an app, with an instant message sent to the farmer’s mobile as well as to the SDM and market committee secretary’s office.Expressing satisfaction over the system, he emphasised that farmers should not face any difficulty with gate passes. DC Uttam Singh informed that adequate staff had been deployed to issue gate passes and that there would be no shortage as per requirement. He assured that better arrangements had been made this year compared to previous years to ensure farmers did not face any inconvenience selling their produce. He also checked the moisture level of wheat at a farmer’s heap and appealed to farmers to bring properly dried crops to the mandis.While interacting with the media, Kanthan said that no negligence should be tolerated from any procurement agency during wheat procurement. He instructed that adequate gunny bags be arranged and tarpaulins be kept ready in view of possible rain. He emphasized that procurement should be carried out as per government norms and payments to farmers must be made within the stipulated time directly into their bank accounts.He also mentioned that some farmers had reported issues regarding crop verification on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal. To this end, he advised such farmers to immediately inform the concerned SDM so that the issue can be resolved promptly through the SDM office, ensuring timely verification and smooth sale of crops without inconvenience.
