Docs from Koriawas college deployed at Narnaul hospital

Patients visiting government health facilities in the district faced inconvenience due to the strike by the HCMS doctors, though lesser patients went to the government hospitals on Monday as they were aware of the strike call.

The doctors from Koriawas Medical College were deployed at the local Civil Hospital in view of the strike.

Narnaul Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Capt Manoj Kumar had issued an order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, to ensure uninterrupted functioning of the healthcare institutions and maintain public order in view of the strike call by the HCMS doctors on December 8 and 9.

As per the order, the District Magistrate directed the Civil Surgeon, Narnaul, to implement a contingency plan to ensure uninterrupted patient care, emergency services and essential medical facilities during the strike period.

“This should include the deployment of available medical staff, coordination with private hospitals if necessary, and the provision of emergency response teams,” the order maintains.

The District Magistrate also directed the Superintendent of Police to ensure the deployment of adequate police personnel at all district hospitals, subdivisional hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres in the district.

Prohibitory orders have also been imposed in and around all healthcare institutions in the district to prevent unlawful assembly, disruption of services or breach of peace.

“During the strike period, the Civil Surgeon will submit a daily report on the functioning of healthcare institutions to the Deputy Commissioner’s office,” states the order, adding that any emergency issue should be reported immediately for necessary intervention and violation of this order will be dealt with strictly as per Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, and other relevant provisions of law.
