Rohtak, April 22
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar appealed to voters not to repeat the mistake made in the 2014, when the BJP could not win the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat.
He was here for the filing of nomination papers of BJP’s Rohtak candidate Arvind Sharma on Monday.
Addressing a public meeting, he urged residents to “teach a befitting lesson to those who got Rohtak burnt”, referring to the arson witnessed during the Jat quota agitation in February 2016.
The Chief Minister asked people to vote for the BJP to make the country a superpower and end terror network.
Training his guns on the Congress, he said the party had always promoted dynastic rule. “First, it was Jawaharlal Nehru, then Indira Gandhi and then Rajiv Gandhi. Now, the fourth generation, Rahul Gandhi, is in the fray for the Prime Minister’s post.”
Haryana BJP Lok Sabha in charge Kalraj Mishra, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu, Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankhar, state BJP president Subhash Barala and local BJP MLA Manish Grover also addressed the gathering.
