A double murder took place in Khokhar village, Sirsa, on Sunday morning, following a land dispute. Police investigations suggest that the conflict began when Binda Singh, who had initially agreed to sell a two-kanal plot of land to Moti Singh, later decided to sell it to former sarpanch Jarmal Singh instead.

Moti Singh, upset by this change, grew suspicious and the dispute between the two parties escalated. On Sunday, Jarmal Singh and his nephew Daljeet Singh were attacked by Moti Singh and five accomplices. The victims were ambushed with sharp weapons while walking back from their fields. The police reported that Jarmal Singh and Daljeet Singh were severely injured and thrown into nearby wheat fields after being attacked. Two other family members, who tried to intervene, also suffered injuries.
