Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij informed that an “institute of driving training and research” (IDTR) will be established in Shahpur village of Ambala Cantonment. Besides this, an “automated vehicle testing station” will also be set up in the Shahpur village.

He said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the establishment of institute of driving training and research and an automated vehicle testing station.

Vij said the facilities will be built on over 13-acre land in Shahpur village of Ambala Cantonment and a budget of Rs 11.65 crore will be spent on establishing these facilities.

The Transport Minister said the establishments of the institute and automated vehicle testing station will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for hundreds of people.

Additionally, with the establishment of the automated vehicle testing station, about 300 vehicles per week will undergo fitness inspections. “Efforts are being made to make transport services in Haryana more efficient and convenient,” Vij said.
