Dushyant Chautala files plea in HC over cop blocking his convoy; hearing on April 30
'It’s a fight against the system; BJP government was protecting those involved,' he alleged
Alleging a conspiracy behind the April 17 incident, when a cop blocked his convoy in Hisar, JJP leader and former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said he had called the IGP of Hisar several times for an inquiry, but nothing had been done so far.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said he had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which has fixed the hearing on April 30.
He said JJP activists, while protesting outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), had broken two flower pots. “We have given them six flower pots as compensation,” he said, adding that six persons were arrested and raids were conducted on gunpoint by the Hisar police for breaking the flower pots.
“It’s not a fight against any individual. It’s a fight against the system,” he said. The BJP government was protecting those involved, he alleged.
He said his staff members had got a notice in connection with the inquiry, but they informed the police that they were out of Haryana and expressed their readiness to appear for inquiry via video conferencing. “I have not been served any notice, even as I am in Hisar and ready to face an inquiry,” he claimed.
He said the DSP conducting the inquiry on behalf of the Hisar police was also party to the incident. “I have demanded that he not be given the inquiry. The CIA police personnel should not be in plain clothes as per rules,” he added.
