Even as dynasts have queued up for Congress ticket once again, former minister Karan Dalal, Deputy Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Aftab Ahmed and MLA Rao Dan Singh are among the applicants for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Haryana.

The central election committee could choose any candidate, irrespective of whether he or she has applied for a ticket. Sources

Five-time Palwal MLA Karan Dalal wants to contest from the Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency. He is among 13 people from Faridabad who have applied for the ticket.

From Rohtak, just three people have applied. Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda, son of former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is not among them, but may contest the poll.

Sources said the central election committee could choose any candidate, irrespective of whether he or she has applied for a ticket.

From Gurugram, working president, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Jitender Kumar Bhardwaj, Aftab Ahmed, Rao Dan Singh, and retired IPS officer Subhash Yadav are the applicants.

There are eight applicants for Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, including former MP Shruti Choudhry, who hails from the Bansi Lal clan and is the daughter of former state minister Kiran Choudhry.

As many as 79 candidates have applied for the Sonepat seat, including former HPCC president Dharampal Singh Malik, and former MLAs Padam Singh Dahiya and Sukhbir Singh. Col Rohit Chaudhary (retd) and Wing Commander Surender Pal Gaur (retd) are also among the applicants.

For Karnal, there are 48 applicants, including former MLA Bharat Singh Chhokkar, and Chanakya Pandit, whose grandfather Chiranji Lal Sharma had won the Karnal seat four times.

Thirty-five aspirants are from Hisar, including ex-MP Jai Prakash and Gaurav Sampat Singh, son of six-time MLA Sampat Singh.

Former MPs Charanjeet Singh Rori and Dr Sushil Kumar Indora are trying their luck from the Sirsa reserved seat. There are 41 applicants, while there are 45 applicants from the Kurukshetra seat, including Sunil Shastri, Satvinder Singh Sandhu, and Nilay Saini.

Forty applicants are there from the Ambala seat, including Dr Kapoor Singh and Jagmal Singh.
