Haryana Education Minister lays foundation stone for beautification of community parks
Apart from the advanced running and walking tracks, the park will feature beautiful plantations, a yoga hall and a multipurpose hall
Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda addressed a gathering on Sunday at a programme organised in Tau Devi Lal Park at Sector-7/8, Panipat, on the occasion of the foundation stone laying for the beautification of community parks in Ward 21, Ward 25, and Tau Devi Lal Park. He also flagged off three sweeping machines.
The minister says he is committed to serving the people with 100 per cent honesty and his every action is dedicated to public welfare.
The beautification works worth crores of rupees will be carried out in Tau Devi Lal Park, including a lake spanning around one acre and an advanced track for daily walkers, Dhanda added.
Apart from the advanced running and walking tracks, the park will feature beautiful plantations, a yoga hall and a multipurpose hall. State-of-the-art facilities will also be provided to make the park a landmark of the area. Model parks will be developed in Ward 21 and Ward 25 within seven months.
The minister also mentioned the possibility of developing more than 100 shops around the parks, which will create employment opportunities for local people and boost the area’s economic activity.
The minister agreed to the demand for opening a school in the Ward and said that concrete steps would soon be taken in the field of education as well.
Mayor Komal Saini said that beautification of the parks in Sector 25 and Tau Devi Lal park was a long-pending demand of the people. After the rejuvenation of these parks, citizens would get a clean and safe environment, the Mayor added.
MC Commissioner Dr Pankaj Yadav briefed the details of the development and beautification works, and said that the tender process for the projects would soon be completed and work would commence on the ground shortly.
Meanwhile, members of the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 7 submitted a memorandum to the education minister. The RWA delegation, led by Baljeet Singh, convener of Haryana Sectors Federations, and Randhir Singh, president RWA, along with Rampat Nain, vice president, and Mohabbat Singh, vice-secretary, stated in their memorandum that the tender for the STP in Sector 7-8 should be completed at the earliest. They also noted that the work of the community centre had been halted for the past one-and-a-half months and should be restarted, and that the base of the shopping centre had been ready for over a year but work had not yet begun.
The RWA members also thanked the minister for carrying out development works worth around Rs 61 lakh in their Sectors 7 and 8.
DSP Suresh Saini, Market Committee chairman Avtar Singh Shastri, Suresh Gumbar, Surendra Jogi, Councilor Manjeet Kaur, Sanjeev Dahiya, Atar Singh, Sarpanch Chiranjeet and Sarpanch Sonu were present on the occasion.
