NEW DELHI, JULY 3

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had fruitful engagements today with three union ministers, including Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who accepted his demand, among others, for a military medical college in the state today.

The proposed college will be constructed on 30-acre government land in Panchkula. The institute will be on the pattern of the prestigious AFMC, Pune.

Parrikar gave in-principle approval to all demands put forth by Khattar . The other was relaxation in the norms for recruitment of soldiers from the Morni area on a par with those in hill areas of the country.

The discussions also focused on construction of the proposed Army airport and Maintenance Repairing Overhaul (MRO) hub in Hisar. Parriakar directed his ministry officials to start working on the project.
