Election officer inspects booths in Yamunanagar

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly election, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Geeta Bharti inspected the polling booths at Sadhaura, Jagadhri and Yamunanagar Assembly constituencies of Yamunanagar district today, taking stock of facilities like electricity, water and ramp arrangements.

She inspected several booths, including booths set up at Government Middle School, Kail; Government Senior Secondary School, Bhedthal; and Saint Thomas School, Jagadhri.

The Divisional Commissioner also inspected polling booths set up at Government Middle School, Govind Pura; DAV Girls Senior Secondary School, Yamunanagar; and Sant Nischal Singh Public School, Yamunanagar. Bharti asked the officials concerned to ensure 100 per cent compliance with the instructions of the Election Commission.

Better coordination between officials was needed for it, she added.

She directed officials to ensure the availability of all necessary facilities at the polling booths in time.

Deputy District Election Officer and City Magistrate Piyush Gupta, Naib Tehsildar (Election) Gulshan Sharma, Additional Public Relation Officer Manoj Pandey and other officers were present during the inspection.
