Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday targeted Kurukshetra MP and convener of the Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) Raj Kumar Saini, saying the BJP made a mistake in identifying him as a candidate in the previous Lok Sabha election.

He was addressing a ‘vijay sankalp’ rally organised in support of BJP candidate and Minister of State Nayab Singh Saini.

He said, “In the previous Lok Sabha election, we committed a mistake in identifying the person who was elected as the MP from here. He divided society and we regret it. No person who divides society or the nation is acceptable to us. I have publicly accepted the mistake. He has now formed his own party.”

Targeting the Congress, he said, “No one is ready to accept Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister. We consider this country our mother, but it is just a piece of land for other political parties. The Congress has put the integrity and security of the nation at stake. It is in favour of keeping Article 370 and is also not speaking anything when its supporter parties led by Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah talk about a separate Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir.”

The CM said the Prime Minister was likely to address three or four rallies in Haryana, while Amit Shah is likely to address five to six.

Nayab Singh Saini filed his nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister, MoS Krishan Bedi, and MLAs Subhash Sudha and Pawan Saini.
