A former weightlifting coach has been arrested for having allegedly murdered a woman weightlifter, who had accused him of rape, the police said.

DSP Sajjan Singh said the accused, Bhagat Singh, who was a coach at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex in Rohtak, was nabbed by a team led by CIA-II wing in-charge Naresh Kumar and SHO (Sadar) Inspector Shamsher Singh from Haridwar, Uttarakhand, yesterday.

He was produced before a local court today and remanded in two days’ police custody.
