Former Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel laid the foundation stones of various development works worth around Rs 8 crore in various wards of the city on Sunday.

He was accompanied by Ambala Mayor Shailja Sachdeva and several other BJP leaders.

The developmental works include the construction of streets, drains and other repairs works, and will be carried out in wards 1, 2, 5, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 19 of Ambala City.

Goel also inaugurated Mirabai Chowk, constructed near the railway station.

On this occasion, Goel said, “Developmental works are being started in various wards, and more developmental works will be carried out in the coming days under the Ambala City Assembly constituency. The government has neither any shortage of funds nor of intention. With the support of the people of Ambala, we will take the city to new heights.”

“On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bringing big gifts for the people of Yamunanagar and Hisar, which will further strengthen the development of the region. The people of Ambala are also eagerly waiting to welcome the PM to the land of Haryana,” he added

Goel also flagged off a super sucker-cum-jetting machine bought by the Ambala Municipal Corporation (MC) to clean the drains of Ambala City.

The machine has been purchased by the MC at a cost of around Rs 2.45 crore.

Goel said the cleaning of drains and sewers often used to be a cause of trouble for the MC. However, now, the cleaning of drains in Ambala city would be done with the help of improved methods and technology. This state-of-the-art machine would play a crucial role in flood management, desilting and maintaining the stormwater drainage infrastructure of Ambala City, he added.

With its high-powered suction and jetting capabilities, it would effectively remove blockages, silt and waste from drains, reducing the risk of waterlogging and urban flooding, the former MLA said.
