Jhajjar, January 12

A team of Vigilance Bureau has caught Raja Ram Nain, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (DETC) presently posted at DETC (Sales Tax), Bahadurgarh town here, red-handed while accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe from an employee of a private firm in lieu of issuing GST certificate.

The bureau’s spokesman said the accused was dilly-dallying in issuing the GST certificate. He asked for a bribe when the complainant requested him to issue the certificate. He later lodged a complaint with State Vigilance Bureau, Rohtak.

Acting on the complaint, a team of the bureau laid a trap and arrested the accused while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 50,000.
