The Central University of Haryana (CUH), in association with Haryana State Higher Education Council and Vidya Bharati Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan, organised a one-day workshop on “Developing Content in Chemistry on Bhartiya Gyan Parampara” on Tuesday.

The event was aimed to promote academic discourse and collaborative efforts towards integrating India’s rich traditional knowledge systems with modern scientific education, particularly in the field of chemistry.

Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar underscored the importance of rediscovering timeless Indian scientific wisdom and contextualising it in modern educational frameworks. Kumar emphasised that disciplines such as chemistry can be enriched by revisiting traditional concepts of matter, elements and natural processes as documented in ancient Indian texts. Prof Raj Kishore Sharma from the University of Delhi shared his insights while elaborating on how Indian philosophical traditions viewed natural phenomena. Citing numerous examples, he delved into practical ways and means of integrating Indian Knowledge System into chemistry .

Dr Pijus Kanti Pal from the Ministry of Education, Delhi, discussed various government initiatives and funding opportunities available for the promotion of Bharatiya Gyan Parampara-based academic content development.
