The local cyber crime branch today busted a fake call centre on the Sohna road here and arrested two partners Paras Bajaj of Saharanpur in UP and Ravinder Kumar of Hisar. Other employees were released after questioning.

An Apple MacBook was recovered from their possession. The police said the accused would dupe US nationals using their social security numbers (SSN) obtained through pop-ups and offered customer service posing as executives of Apple and Amazon company. They duped each client of $200 to $500 and took money only through gift cards. The centre was being run from the 10th floor of Spaze I-Tech Park on the Sohna road. When asked, the staff could not produce any valid OSP licence.

Inspector Vipin Kumar, SHO of the Cyber crime police station, said the accused said they used to buy the data of US nationals from a vendor identified as Deepak and gave him Rs 500 per data. Efforts were on to arrest him.
