While the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Charuni) is mobilising support to make its ‘Kisan Mazdoor Jan Kranti Rally’ successful on Monday, the Kurukshetra police have issued an advisory regarding the diversion of the heavy vehicles approaching Pipli Chowk in Kurukshetra.
The rally will be held at Pipli Grain Market, near the National Highway on Monday. The heavy vehicle traffic will be diverted from 9 am to 5 pm.
The union has given the call of holding a rally against the India-US trade deal, and raise other long-pending issues like legal guarantee on MSP, loan waiver and compensation for losses.
BKU (Charuni) chief Gurnam Singh Charuni said, “The farmers have been urged to reach in large numbers so that the concerns of the farmers can be raised effectively. The farmers will not allow the government to compromise with the farmers’ interests.”
“It has come to notice that the police will install barricades to divert traffic. The farmers are advised to install the union’s flag and stickers on their vehicles so that their vehicles are allowed to reach the rally. The police should not stop the farmers, and if we get any information about the farmers being stopped, the union will take strict action,” he added.
