Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana today said farmers were redefining farming through hard work and with the support of the government.
He was speaking at a district-level event ‘Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture’ organised by the Horticulture Department in Talheri village on Saturday. The event aimed to raise awareness among farmers about orchards and natural farming.
The minister stated that with the help of net houses, the farmers are producing abundant produce even in adverse weather conditions. Farmers are becoming successful entrepreneurs by establishing new dimensions in fruit farming, and setting up mushroom units.
Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the government had implemented various welfare schemes for farmers through the Horticulture Department. The farmers should take benefits of the government schemes and increase their income. He also called upon the farmers to adopt natural farming to reduce their cost of production and improve the quality of produce.
