Police in Sirsa have registered an FIR against the manager of Bhupender Gas Agency for allegedly overcharging customers for LPG cylinders, officials said on Saturday.

The complaint arose during an inspection on March 31, when officers noticed that the agency was charging higher rates than those legally fixed. Customers were reportedly paying Rs 943 per cylinder instead of the standard Rs 907- Rs 910, resulting in an overcharge of around Rs 36 per cylinder.

The FIR cites violations under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000, and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Police said the overcharging practice amounts to unfair trade and illegal pricing of essential commodities.
