Former CM Hooda slams BJP over jobs, non-procurement of paddy

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda hit out at the BJP over the issue of unemployment and non-procurement of paddy in the grain markets. He also highlighted the issue of ransom calls to traders and said it reflected on poor law and order situation across the state.

“Unemployment is a major issue across the state, due to which the youth are being forced to migrate abroad. The law and order situation in the state has completely collapsed. Everyday ransom demands and murders are taking place. During the Congress rule, we had thrown the criminals out of Haryana by giving an open challenge. Now I promise you that we will eliminate criminals and drug smugglers from Haryana. No one will be allowed to play with the future of Haryana,” he promised while addressing a gathering in Kunjpura in favour of the party’s candidate from the Indri Assembly segment, Rakesh Kamboj.

Hooda appealed for votes for Kamboj and said, “Every vote he gets will go to me and will ensure Indri’s big participation in the coming government. Send Rakesh Kamboj to the Vidhan Sabha by winning with a huge majority and I promise you that I will form a Congress government in the state,” he said.

“Indri is a constituency which supported the Congress fully even while being in the opposition. Now that the Congress is going to form the government in the state, I will try to repay Indri’s debt by getting development work done. We hope that this time the Congress will get more support from the public than before. The Congress will get record breaking work done in Indri when it forms the government,” he promised.

Hooda said the BJP came to power by lying about doubling the income of the farmers by 2022 but increased the cost manifold by increasing the rates of diesel, fertilisers and medicines. “Instead of giving MSP, the farmers were embroiled in portals and given dates after dates for purchase of crops. When the Congress government is formed, the farmers will be given legal guarantees of MSP with fair price and anti-people portals will be closed,” he said.

“The farmers will be given subsidies on diesel. Women will be given honorarium of Rs 2,000 per month, LPG cylinder for Rs 500, 300 units of free electricity, old-age pension of Rs 6,000, plots of 100 square yards and two room house, reinstatement of old pension scheme to employees, two lakh permanent recruitments will be done on merit. The creamy layer of Backward Class will be increased from Rs 6 to Rs 10 lakh,” he promised.
